The University of East Anglia was built in 1960, Denys Lasdun designed the core buildings including the iconic Ziggurats. The buildings are architecturally unique and Grade II Listed, refurbishing and upgrading these 10 blocks comprising of 850 rooms required our early involvement. This enabled the client to reduce risk, and foster a positive culture within the clients team to enable our professional delivery of the project.

The works were carried out over 2 phases with a overall duration of 23 weeks on site. The £2.4m refurbishment saw works carried out to;

  • Shared Kitchen
  • Common room facilities
  • visitor accommodation units
  • New mechanical and electrical installations
  • Painting / decorating
  • New flooring
  • Repairs to existing rooms
  • Refits of the boiler rooms and connection to the district heating main
